The KMFI team attended the MCPI Annual Conference held on July 30–31, 2025, at Century Park Hotel, Manila. The event gathered key microfinance stakeholders to discuss vital developments and issues shaping the sector.
With the theme “Microfinance and Sustainable Finance for the Poor,” the conference emphasized the crucial role of microfinance in helping communities build assets, increase income, and become more resilient against the impacts of climate change.
KMFI President and CEO Ms. Mercy Faustino served as one of the resource speakers, sharing valuable insights on fraud prevention and restoring clients’ trust — reinforcing KMFI’s strong commitment to transparency and client protection.
The KMFI President & CEO, together with the MIS Officer, are participating in the MiDAS Training at the ADB Building, Mandaluyong City.
This training focuses on understanding the system’s overall workflow, highlights key data for smarter decision-making, and introduces new updates on API integrations and enhanced Fraud Protection features, gearing us toward a more secure and data-driven future.
Empowering Farmers through Agri-Enterprise Clustering
KMFI, together with the KFI Team, conducted an Orientation on the Agri Enterprise Clustering Approach (AECA) — a concept developed by the Jollibee Group Foundation — held at Sinoropan Community Agriculture Cooperative.
This initiative aims to equip smallholder farmers with the knowledge and tools to collectively market their products, improve market access, and enhance income and sustainability through cooperative efforts.
Kasanyangan Agriculture Cooperative Federation (K-Coop) held its General Assembly and Election of the Board of Directors at Ipil, Sibugay. The event was facilitated by KFI Vice President Ed Faustino. The elected Federation Officers are as follows: Nur-alin A. Aguil, Chairwoman; Rosalle Thata Buhisan Baylon, Vice Chair; Rommel Balansag, Board Member; Helly Padao, Secretary; and Mae Mae Angeles Manalo Pedro, Treasurer.
The WEE SAFE Annual Learning Review and Project Management Team (PMT) Meeting was successfully conducted on July 15–18, 2025, held at B Hotel Quezon City, with the consortium OXFAM Pilipinas, KMFI, and SIMCARRD. The activity aimed to review implementation progress, assess emerging changes, and identify strategic directions as the project approaches its final phase. It also served as a platform to align and finalize plans.

A priceless moment led by our compassionate KMFI President/CEO, Ms. Mercy Faustino, as the team visited Lapakan Elementary School, Zamboanga City District 2 — the second beneficiary of our Balik Eskwela Outreach Program.
LES expressed its appreciation to KMFI Management through the presence of our President for the organization’s strong support and future plans to establish a school hub that will provide students and teachers with access to reliable internet connectivity.
Through this collaborative effort with the Parents-Teachers Association, KMFI continues to make a meaningful impact in rural school communities, advancing children’s learning opportunities and digital inclusion.
Guided by our commitment to community empowerment, the WEE-SAFE Project under the EU: BAEP conducted the first batch of the Organizational Leadership and Governance Training, engaging eight local associations. We were honored to have Mr. Reynaldo H. Manigos, who is involved in the organization, social preparation, and institutional development of multiple cooperatives in Basilan, as our resource person.
The activity was attended by members and officers of a women-led association engaged in vegetable production and enterprise. This initiative aims to empower women in the community by deepening their understanding of their roles and responsibilities within their organization.
Over two days, participants explored the values of accountable leadership, transparent governance, and collective decision-making. The sessions aimed to inspire stronger, more resilient organizations rooted in shared purpose and service to the community.
