MiMAP 2026 General Assembly Meeting

MiMAP marked its 21st anniversary on March 12, 2026, at the Asian Institute of Management. The day began with the final Board meeting of the incumbent Trustees, followed by the Annual General Assembly where members approved the 2026 plans, budget, key targets, amendments to the By-laws, and elected the new Board of Trustees for 2026–2027.

Also present was Reynaldo A. Regalado, Insurance Commissioner, whose message encouraged the continued advancement of microinsurance, and who administered the oath-taking of the newly elected Board.

We are proud to share that our President, Ms. Mercedes G. Faustino, attended the General Assembly and was re-elected as a member of the Board of Trustees for 2026–2027.

The 2025 MCPI Annual Conference

The KMFI team attended the MCPI Annual Conference held on July 30–31, 2025, at Century Park Hotel, Manila. The event gathered key microfinance stakeholders to discuss vital developments and issues shaping the sector.

With the theme “Microfinance and Sustainable Finance for the Poor,” the conference emphasized the crucial role of microfinance in helping communities build assets, increase income, and become more resilient against the impacts of climate change.

KMFI President and CEO Ms. Mercy Faustino served as one of the resource speakers, sharing valuable insights on fraud prevention and restoring clients’ trust — reinforcing KMFI’s strong commitment to transparency and client protection.

WEE SAFE Annual Learning Review and Project Management Team

The WEE SAFE Annual Learning Review and Project Management Team (PMT) Meeting was successfully conducted on July 15–18, 2025, held at B Hotel Quezon City, with the consortium OXFAM Pilipinas, KMFI, and SIMCARRD. The activity aimed to review implementation progress, assess emerging changes, and identify strategic directions as the project approaches its final phase. It also served as a platform to align and finalize plans.

LAPAKAN Balik Eskwela Outreach Program

A priceless moment led by our compassionate KMFI President/CEO, Ms. Mercy Faustino, as the team visited Lapakan Elementary School, Zamboanga City District 2 — the second beneficiary of our Balik Eskwela Outreach Program.

LES expressed its appreciation to KMFI Management through the presence of our President for the organization’s strong support and future plans to establish a school hub that will provide students and teachers with access to reliable internet connectivity.

Through this collaborative effort with the Parents-Teachers Association, KMFI continues to make a meaningful impact in rural school communities, advancing children’s learning opportunities and digital inclusion.

Microfinance Operations Staff Summit

KMFI attended the Microfinance Operations Staff Summit organized by the Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc. (MCPI) at Sheraton Manila Bay. The two-day summit gathered microfinance practitioners from across the country to discuss operational challenges, new strategies, and industry updates.

Featured a plenary session on “Reaching the Poorest Through Sustainable Finance” facilitated by Mr. Eduardo Jimenez, with resource speakers from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and ASHI. Breakout sessions also covered delinquency management, credit discipline, and the evolution of center meetings.
