Policy Formulation in the Management and Use of Motorized Boats cum MOA Consultation for Fisherfolk Associations

The Policy Formulation in the Management and Use of Motorized Boats cum MOA Consultation for Fisherfolk Associations was conducted on November 12, 2025, at the Hostel Conference Hall, Barangay Matibay, Lamitan City. The activity aimed to guide fisherfolk associations in drafting clear Policies, Systems, and Procedures (PSP) for the equitable, sustainable, and accountable use of 14 motorized boats provided by the project. During the workshop, participating associations developed and presented PSPs detailing boat usage schedules, contribution systems, maintenance responsibilities, and financial accountability mechanisms. The session also included a detailed orientation on the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), clarifying the obligations of both the project and the associations to ensure transparency, collective benefit, and long-term sustainability. The activity concluded with commitments to finalize the PSPs, conduct internal re-echo sessions, schedule boat testing, and hold official MOA signing and turnover ceremonies, reinforcing the WEE-SAFE Project’s goal of empowering fisherfolk through organized, sustainable, and accountable resource management.
