Advocacy Awareness Campaign

The WEE-SAFE Project launched a regular radio program as part of its strategy to strengthen institutional linkages and expand public engagement within the agri-fishery sector. The program served as a platform for collaboration by featuring key government agencies such as MAFAR, MOLE, the City Agriculture Office (CAO), CSWD, PCA, and OPAg, enabling them to directly share updates, services, and opportunities relevant to farmers and fisherfolk. Through these discussions, the program promoted access to technical assistance, livelihood support, labor and social protection services, and agricultural development initiatives, helping bridge information gaps between institutions and grassroots communities.

Beyond information dissemination, the radio program actively advocated for inclusive development by highlighting the roles, rights, and contributions of women, youth, and Indigenous Peoples (IPs) within the agri-fishery value chain. It amplified the voices of women leaders by providing them with space to share experiences, leadership journeys, and community initiatives—challenging traditional norms and showcasing their capacity as decision-makers and economic actors. By effectively utilizing local media, the initiative expanded outreach to remote areas, increased public awareness of sectoral concerns, and strengthened community participation in government and project-led programs, ultimately reinforcing transparency, accountability, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
