Training on Good Agricultural Practices and Handover of Irrigation Equipment/Materials and Vegetable Seeds for the Al-Huda Agri-Producers and Marketing Association

The Training on Good Agricultural Practices and Hand-over of Irrigation Equipment/Materials and Vegetable Seeds for the Al-Huda Agri-Producers and Marketing Association was conducted on February 21, 2024, in collaboration with the WEE-SAFE Project and the Local Government Unit of Lamitan City to strengthen farmers’ knowledge and improve agricultural productivity. The activity aimed to enhance the association members’ understanding and implementation of Good Agricultural Practices while increasing farm production and income through the provision of irrigation equipment and vegetable seeds. Participants actively engaged in discussions, while association leaders emphasized the importance of properly maintaining the provided irrigation systems. The project distributed portable irrigation equipment to address water shortages and the impacts of El Niño, alongside assorted vegetable seeds from the LGU, formalized through an acknowledgment signing by association and project representatives. As a result, participants gained practical knowledge on Good Agricultural Practices, received essential farming resources, strengthened collaboration with local stakeholders, and enhanced their capacity for sustainable agricultural production. Moving forward, the WEE-SAFE team and LGU committed to continued monitoring, data collection, technical assistance, and capacity-building initiatives to ensure effective use of the resources and sustain the long-term benefits of the intervention.
