Training on Value Chain Analysis: Basic Concepts and Tools

The Training on Value Chain Analysis: Basic Concepts and Tools was conducted on December 15–16, 2023, at the Marcian Garden Hotel in Zamboanga City, facilitated by Dr. Teresita A. Narvaez and attended by 18 participants from the WEE-SAFE Project, Oxfam Pilipinas, and SIMCARRD Inc. The two-day training strengthened participants’ knowledge and practical skills in value chain analysis within the agri-fishery sector through discussions on value chain concepts, methodology, mapping, and financial analytical tools, as well as hands-on application of project development tools such as Stakeholder Analysis, Problem Tree Analysis, Objective Tree Analysis, SWOT Analysis, and Participatory Systems Analysis. The activity aimed to align value chain methodologies with project goals focused on women’s economic empowerment and safety, and it successfully equipped participants with competencies that can be directly applied to project planning and implementation, enhancing their capacity to contribute to sustainable and inclusive agri-fishery development initiatives.
